If your company is engaged in manufacturing engineering, you probably use components made of metal. They could be fabricated, forged or cast. However, if you want to have almost limitless choice of shape and configuration, only castings will provide that. They are cost-effective too.

The team at Castech has extensive experience in casting methods and technologies and, over the years, we have faced and solved a myriad of challenges  from many different industries. This experience means we are able to assist you to develop your product right from concept, through prototyping to production. We can even tailor the composition of a metal specifically, so it suits your particular application.

Castech takes pride in being highly responsive to customer demands, offering the capacity to produce castings a wide variety of alloys, including aluminium, bronze, iron and steel, one off or thousands. This gives you the flexibility to choose castings even for short runs, and our fast turnaround times reduce the amount of stock you need to hold.

Our status as a preferred supplier to many customers is based on honesty, integrity and responsive, expert service, coupled with the highest level of quality, achieved through the use of the latest technical advances in the foundry industry.

Moulding Process

Moulding Process Pic

Castech specialises in the hardsand process, which involves blending sand, binder and catalyst together in a continuous mixer and filling a flask. The mixture then sets hard to create a mould that is ready to pour. By using finer grain sand, we are able to produce a superior finish to the castings.

Melting

Melting Pic

Ferrous melting
At Castech, we have two tilt-pour induction furnaces with a combined
capacity of 750 kg for the production of ferrous castings.

Non-ferrous melting
With our push-up induction melter, we can pour 120 kg gross in bronze. We also use this unit for smaller ferrous heats and tryouts. Aluminium is bulk-melted in a 500 kg capacity gas-fired furnace and transferred into two 350 kg electric resistance furnaces, where it is treated, de-gassed and held for pouring.
