We are proud to announce that Castech is now sponsoring the Elizabeth Netball Association B2 Sapphires team. We are also excited that our team has won the 2008 Winter Grand Final and are now Premiers.  We congratulate the girls on their sterling effort and wish them well in the upcoming summer season.

New Apprentice for Castech

Castech has just signed up Shane Catterall as an apprentice. He has been working as a trainee moulder since January '08, and  Shane commenced his Moulding Apprenticeship on September 1st, and will combine on-the job training with formal study for a period of 4 years, and we wish him all the best with his career and future.

Plans for our expansion have been approved by Council, and currently we are working on the engineering drawings. Once completed we will be going to tender for pricing, and hopefully will be able to commence construction within the next 3-4 months.

We have just completed a complete refurbishment of our offices and reception area. Included in the upgrade is a new work area, repainting, photocopier and telephone system, new air-conditioning and all new furniture. We have received many positive comments from clients, and staff are enjoying the rejuvenated amenities immensely.

Team Castech makes it two in a row!

Once again the fighting spirit at Castech ensured that the 2007 end-of-year BIA/Castech bowling trophy stays at Wingfield, and the team is ready and raring to go to make it 3 in a row in 2008. Some team members have been hard at it, practising diligently to ensure that the trophy once again stays with us, and we look forward to a spirited battle with the BIA team.

Castech is proud to be associated with the Metro United Women's Football Club, and is official sponsor for the under 11 'Hurricanes' team.

Phil Stoddart, managing director of Castech says " We feel that it is very important for business to have some involvement in the community, and we feel very privileged to support these talented young girls, and I look forward to seeing them out on the field every Sunday, giving their all" .

New sand mixer installed at Castech

As part of our commitment to ongoing improvement, Castech recently installed a new WES CM4000 High Intensity Continuous mixer. Built by Warill Engineering, our preferred supplier of quality foundry equipment, the mixer is capable of 4 tonnes of mixed sand per hour output, and is fitted with a 3 pump blending system, enabling the operator to vary the mould set times between 5 minutes and 2 hours at the touch of a button. The mixer is also fitted with sand temperature probes, allowing for automatic computerised adjustments of set times due to variation in sand temperatures.

The older style mixer that was replaced has been sent for refurbishment and updating, and will be utilised in our third mould loop line at a later date.
